Cambridge English Qualifications such as C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency certify high-level English on the Cambridge scale (160–230). Certificates do not expire, making them popular for long-term study and work.

The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program is a fully computer-delivered English test scored on a 1–12 scale. It is designed for, and recognised within, Canadian immigration and citizenship processes.

The Duolingo English Test is a fully online, on-demand English assessment scored 10–160. Its low cost and at-home format have made it a popular alternative for university applications.

The International English Language Testing System measures listening, reading, writing and speaking, reported on a 0–9 band scale. It is one of the most widely accepted English tests for study, work and migration.
UK, Australia, Canada study & immigration
PTE Academic is a computer-based English test scored 10–90 with fast, AI-driven results. It is widely accepted for university admission and for Australian and UK visa purposes.

Undergraduate, graduate and professional admissions
The ACT is a US college-admissions test covering English, math, reading and science, scored 1–36. It is accepted alongside the SAT by virtually all US universities.
US undergraduate admissions
The GMAT Focus Edition assesses quantitative, verbal and data-insights skills on a 205–805 scale. It is the standard admissions test for MBA and other graduate business programs.
MBA & graduate business school
The Graduate Record Examinations test verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and analytical writing, with section scores from 130–170 (total 260–340). It is used for admission to a broad range of graduate programs.
Graduate school admissions (Master's & PhD)
The Law School Admission Test measures reading comprehension and logical reasoning, scored 120–180. It is required for admission to most US and Canadian law schools.
US & Canada law school admissions
The Medical College Admission Test is a lengthy exam covering the sciences, psychology and critical analysis, scored 472–528. It is required for admission to most North American medical schools.

The SAT is a digital college-admissions test scored 400–1600 across Reading and Writing and Math. It is widely used for undergraduate admission, primarily in the United States.

High-school qualifications that open the door to university
GCE Advanced Levels are subject-based UK qualifications graded A*–E, normally taken at the end of secondary school. A-Level grades are a primary basis for university offers in the UK and many other countries.
UK university admissions
Advanced Placement exams certify college-level study in individual subjects, scored 1–5. Strong AP scores can earn university credit and strengthen undergraduate applications, mainly in the US.
